Nursing Thoughts

Why have you chosen nursing?
Well my first choice was pharmacy, but my parents didn’t have enough money to send me to Davao to study the aforementioned course. Nursing being my second choice was available in some colleges in our place, so I decided to take it up.

What can you say about that course?

Honestly, nursing is very demanding. Demanding in a way that we have to work eight hours straight to attend the needs of the client. We’re doing lots of things from papers to dirty works. Not just that, sometimes we have to sleep really late just to finish paper works, case studies and the like. It drains the whole of me.
I remember when we had our psychiatric exposure. Woah! We had to conceptualize everyday for two weeks just to make sure that we could be able to render therapeutic activities to psychiatric clients. Imagine this, we have to sleep late and wake up early just to finish everything from individual requirements to group task.

What do you advise to those who want to take up the course?
Ask yourself many times if this is what you want. Then if you’re really determined to take the course, I guess all you have to do is enjoy the experience and learn from it.
